The careful restoration work undertaken by Chiltern Railways, in conjunction with the Friends of Leamington Spa Station, to Leamington Spa station over recent years was recognised in the 2011 National Railway Heritage Awards when the work in restoring the Up and Down waiting rooms was awarded the Railway Heritage Trust Conservation Award. The plaque was officially unveiled in the Up waiting room on Friday 13 April by Sir William McAlpine Bart, Chairman of the Railway Heritage Trust.
